How To
If you don’t already know Jesus and want to know Him, I would like to introduce you. God created all of us with a vacuum deep inside that can’t be filled or satisfied by anything else in this world except Him. At the same time, we have an inborn flaw where we routinely do the wrong thing or try to fill that vacuum with the wrong things. The Bible calls that inborn flaw sin. We can’t approach God with our sin, so God had to do something to overcome our sin… to pay the penalty for our choosing against God. He sent His only son, Jesus, to pay that penalty for our sin. It cost Him His life. God raised Him back to life and accepted Jesus’ death as payment for us. That allows us to have a relationship with God. Without that relationship we have no hope in this life and have to pay for our sin on our own… an eternal debt.
God sees you reading this. He knows your heart. He is waiting for you to call out to Him. Just talk to Him. You can use your own words. If you’re not sure what to say you can pray the prayer below. What matters is that you mean what you say and it comes from your heart.
Dear Jesus, I am a sinner and I am sorry. Jesus, You died for me, and you promised to save me if I would ask. Please forgive me of my sin. I turn away from my sin and turn to You. I trust You Jesus. I want and need You to change me from the inside out. Help me to know You. Help me to love You. Help me to live for You the rest of my life. I choose to follow You first. Thank you. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
Your main source for knowing Jesus is the Bible. Read a little bit every day. You can start in the New Testament… maybe in the book of John. The front of the Bible will have a table of contents so you can easily find where that is located. Find a church that believes the Bible and where the Pastor preaches the Bible. Get involved there so you can grow and learn to love God more and more. God will continue to change you from the inside out and He will help you every day to follow Him. He loves you so very much.
God Bless You!
