Be Single Minded

Fearless

1 John 4:18a (NKJV®)

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear”

Have you seen a child lately? I saw the cutest little girl today walking with her Mom and Dad. She was picking flowers (really weeds) in other peoples’ yards as they walked the block. She was running around without a care in the world, as happy as she could be. It is because her Mom and Dad were with her.

No longer children, we have work to do, bills to pay, and obligations to fulfill. We don’t always consciously live in the security of the love of our Heavenly Father. We have to remember how big, good, kind, and strong He is if we are to live in the full freedom He intends for us. No one gains strength from the weak, frail, impotent, cowardly or apathetic. God’s love for us is sourced in who He is.  There is nothing weak or apathetic, or any other of these “lesser” traits, in who He is or in His love for us. (Ephesians 3:17-19)

Oh, to fully live as a child of God. A child that is so confident in God’s strong and steady love that trusting, moving, running and resting comes easy. A child that has no fear because the Father is near. He is bigger, better and stronger. We can walk confidently in risky places. We can speak boldly in contrary spaces. We can love wholeheartedly in an apprehensive atmosphere. We can live freely in an otherwise fettered world. God’s love changes us. It doesn’t just save our souls in the future, it saves us so that today and every day we can live confidently and completely free of fear.  We can be fearless.
